A native Cincinnatian, Allison graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a B.S. in Interior Design. After spending over 15 years as a designer/project manager she left the contract furniture industry behind to pursue her lifelong dream of being an artist. From 2001 through 2006 she worked with stained glass and wire to create unique 2 and 3 dimensional artwork. She is best known for her glass handbags and wire, glass, and crystal chandeliers. In 2007 Allison returned to the medium of clay after a 10 year "break", creating "cone chick" wall sculptures as well as hanging individual and multi-tile sets in bright whimsical patterns and colors. 2008 has been an exciting year so far since it has marked her return to painting on canvas. Her acrylic abstracts are filled with bright colors (of course!) and texture.
Allison has participated in over 40 art shows in the past 7 years. Her artwork has been sold in several Cincinnati stores and galleries, as well as galleries in Cleveland, Chicago, and Las Vegas. Her glass handbags have been featured in local television and newspapers, as well as in the 2006 Lark book publication Hip Handbags.
Her work is currently on display at Indigenous Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio, Studio 414 at the Pendleton Art Center, and at several art shows and gallery events throughout the year- see the upcoming events page for a complete schedule.
